Audience Review

I saw the show on Wednesday. I really enjoyed. Mazza was fantastic, I mean it. you should get on that stage more often. when you yelled I jumped and when you cried my eyes filled up. I got chills down my back. it was also good to see Joe back on the stage. a fab show. the second one was good as well.

I found myself wondering who I would be. It was also good to see new faces on the stage.

Well done to both directors and the backstage crew.

Thank you to both casts and crews. The directors are to be congratulated on two excellent shows. Monkey Paws was so well acted and I shared Marion's grieve. All the girls in Cagebirds are to be congratulated on staying in character thoughout the entire play.

Again my thanks to all concerned in a most entertaining evening.

Cagebirds was on fire last night. Out and out triumph. Difficult script could easily have gone all laboured and studenty but they've made it funny, touching, funny, scary and very very funny. (I'm going to be a guffawing heap on the floor next time anyone mentions "Whipsnade", "pacifists" or any item of food . . .)

Bravura performances all round - any of them might have completely stolen another play (think Rain Man x 6), and supreme credit to the Wild One standing up to it all without having a foible of her own to play with (Sarah Owens, you are forgiven your demented warmup regime). Great casting, great direction, loved it.

A big well done to the director, cast & crew of both plays.

It's not easy to put your head above the firing line and direct for the first time and I hope that this will give a big incentive to anyone who wants to either direct in Prompt next year or who wants to take part in the New Director's showcase.

Many congratulations to the casts and crew of Monkey's Paw and Cagebirds.

This was an excellent evening's entertainment - two completely different plays, each complementing the other.

I have to agree with the general consensus that Marian Buss was a revelation - a truly impressive debut. My heart bled for her.

I thought the Cagebirds a particularly strong piece of theatre - beautifully choreographed, with a real sense of style and wit. It was blessed with an excellent cast and Loftus' direction managed to bring sensitivity to what could easily have been a rather mawkish and dated piece. Another extremely impressive debut.

I THOUGHT it was a great evening of contrasting styles of drama, with some stand out performances. Maz, what can I say, you were very moving. Its not often you see something as intersting and different as the Cagebirds. Congrats all round!
