"Remember Girls, not slim for today, but slim for life". With these words Siobhan seeks to inspire her recruits to the Slim for Life Diet Club to succeed in achieving their health and beauty goals. What soon becomes apparent is that their real problem is a lack of self-esteem and a sense of worth. How they find those values, plus the friendship that grows between them, forms the basis of this very funny play which deals with a highly topical subject.

The play has seven very strong parts for women (sorry lads). They are:

Siobhan - The fitness instructress from Hell. Domineering, selfish and a bully. Mid 30s to mid 40s.
Kelly - Unemployed. Withdrawn, quiet, thin. Bullied by Siobhan. Late teens to early 20s.
Claudette - Hotel bar manageress. Plain speaking and forthright. Regional accent. Late 30s to late 40s.
Lucinda - Marketing manager. Lively and lippy, with a cheeky sense of humour. Late 20s to early 30s.
Celia - Housewife, retired. Brings common sense and good advice to the proceedings. Early to mid 60s.
Rosie - Church worker. A bit naive and too trusting. Easily swayed. Early 30s to early 40s.
Jean - Working housewife. Indecisive, nervous, dominated somewhat by Siobhan. Mid 30s to mid 40s.

Please don't worry if you don't fit exactly into the age ranges indicated. They are flexible. The most important for me, as always, is getting the right balance in casting. If you want to try for any part(s), please feel very welcome to do so.

N.B, Claudette's accent is described as Manchester. However I'm happy to consider any type of Northern or Midlands accent.

If you're unable to make either of the audition dates, please contact me ASAP and I'll do my best to make alternative arrangements. Likewise if you have any other queries, please do get in touch.

Scripts are available in the bar.
