The Marriage-Go-Round focuses on Paul Delville, Professor of Cultural Anthropology, and his wife Content, Dean of Women. They are a happily married couple who begin to question their relationship during a visit from a young Swedish houseguest, Katrin Sveg. The spiral of events prompted by Katrin's arrival are added to by meetings between Content and her close personal friend, Ross Barnett, a Language Professor. The action is accompanied by the lectures Paul and Content give on monogamy to their students.
When I first picked up this play I couldn't put it down, and have been longing to direct it since. The interesting plot, fabulous characters and witty dialogue combine to provide an entertaining play that promises to be an enjoyable experience for cast, crew and audience alike.
Cast
Content Delville, Dean of Women: 40-60 A smartly presented and intelligent woman, gracefully middle aged.
Katrin Sveg, the Swedish threat: 20s A strong and determined young lady, she knows what she wants and she is quite capable of getting it.
Ross Barnett, Language Professor and Content's friend: 40-60 Another tweed wearing sort of man, quite similar to Paul.
Scripts will be available in the bar shortly. I look forward to seeing a variety of new and established members at the auditions.
